a sick 93 typhoondenny jr. 03-13-2004, 08:02 PM i have a 93 typhoon with a blown motor dose anyone know if a stock 4.3l bottomend is the same or are the pistons and crank different? thanks for any help you can give me. denny jr turbodog 05-21-2004, 10:52 AM As long as the block is 4.3l, no balance shaft and came from the factory with a roller cam, then it is the same as a SyTy block. Crankshaft is same as generic 4.3, but bearing caps are NOT. You need to re-use your nodular iron caps from your old engine or convert the new block to 4-bolt (splayed) caps. SyTy pistons are also different, but don't go with GM parts there. Get aftermarket pistons (8.35:1, TRW makes the cheapest I'm aware of) and Eagle rods. Lots more info at: www.syty.net www.sytyauthority.net www.sytyarchives.com Blazing Rice 06-16-2004, 05:01 PM Do you know what failed on the blown motor? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
