98 Tahoe Auto Diming Rear View Mirrorburt13 03-12-2004, 12:33 PM I have a 98 tahoe, I have a question regarding the auto dimming rear view mirror. It no longer dims, I have pulled out all of the fuses to check if one was blown but they are all in good shape. I thought I would call the dealer to see how much one would cost. They quoted $400.00!!. Any way I was woundering if any one had run in to this issue and is it just a case of it breaking. Thanks Burt13 typicalsituations 03-12-2004, 12:52 PM Its a good thing that there is eBay. There are some listed right now for about $30. As for the problem with the mirrior, I have not experienced a problem with any of those, however, you might want to get a Q-Tip and clean the little "eye" on the left side of the mirror that sences the light. Other than that , I can't think of anything that you havent done already. I think that there is a connector running up to the headliner.... maybe it has come loose. typicalsituations 03-12-2004, 12:54 PM Here is one... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33699&item=2466704949 Ther are others on there as well.. I searched "Tahoe Rear mirrow" I know that you could find more by searching other vehicles that are compatable... Jeremy-WI 03-13-2004, 07:46 PM I think there is a green wire on those mirrors, check for 12v on it. It should be power from the backup lights which automatically shuts of the mirror darkening vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
