94 Sentra No Startelcfltmgr 03-12-2004, 10:22 AM Has anyone had a problem with their 94 sentra with the 1.6l? The problem is that as my son was driving down the road, it stalled as if it had run out of gas and never restarted. It cranks normally I have checked the following items. 1. Spark - new cap and rotor - spark seems a little weak maybe I'm just use to my V-8. :eek7: 2. Removed fuel line to engine and turned on key-lot's of fuel. 3. Replaced PCV valve as suggested by one of the forums. 4.Replaced all plugs 5. After cranking the plugs are wet. 6. Removed fuel pump fuse and opened throttle body fully - Did get some little pops but no start. 7. removed connector to TPS and tried. - no difference. :banghead: The engine has 130,000 miles on it and I just had a valve job done. It had been running just fine up to this point. Also, it has always used oil but didn't have leaks or smoke. Is this normal with these? Does this have a crank or cam sensor? Ive had it with this thing! :banghead: Hope someone can help. :disappoin Thanks Bruce nacho_nissan 03-12-2004, 11:29 PM sorry to hear that. did you check your timing? it sound like a ignition problem. not sure. and yes it is normal for our cars to not leak a drop of oil. my engine has 185,000 miles, i run syntethik oil on it and no leaks! good luck with your son's sentra! elcfltmgr 03-13-2004, 09:16 AM Thanks for the reply. I have checked the timing and even moved the distributor back and forth to try and get and least a stumble as far as starting. I even took a none good coil and tested it. It made no difference. Maybe the computer took a dump? After cranking I smell a lot of fuel. :disappoin Thanks Bruce nacho_nissan 03-13-2004, 09:37 PM hmm...man i think its time to visit the mechanic! thats what i will do, cause maybe its not something simple.. iggi7 04-22-2004, 11:59 PM Has anyone had a problem with their 94 sentra with the 1.6l? If you find out what is up let me know. For now mine is stranded at the mother in laws house , 30 miles from my house. I did buy what appeared to be the same brain box from a junk yard for $8.50 (what a score) but not the problem. I am beginning to think that it might be the distributor. anyway good luck! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
