Rust is getting worse! what to do?maddogsback 03-12-2004, 10:14 AM OK heres the deal, in the rear driversite quarter panel near the front was a small amount of rust starting when i bought my 95 honda civic lx and now its getting worse :banghead: how can i stop it from continuing :uhoh: and get rid of it the easy way that will work. i do not have the money to do expensive work but a quick guide on how to do this would be great. any help would be greatly appreciated. tokes99 03-12-2004, 10:21 PM Well I am not a body expert by any means but unless you remove the rusted section it will likely come back. Those rust converters seem only to work on surface rust, so you can either cut out or grind all the rust away. For more info search google for rust prevention and elimination techniques. 1995 geo tracker 03-13-2004, 04:59 AM how bad is the rust?, has it started to eat the metal or is it just surface rust? IntegraBoy2003 03-13-2004, 11:14 AM go to a body shop, I had some rush fixed on my civic, in same area you have yours, I think that all hondas rust around there (well the older ones) silky4u 03-16-2004, 02:57 AM Spray salt water all over the affected area, and while your at it spray the rest of your car that might get rusty. Salt neutralizes rust. :banghead: maddogsback 03-16-2004, 10:08 AM how bad is the rust?, has it started to eat the metal or is it just surface rust? it has started to eat the metal and is getting worse. it started about the size of a quarter a year ago and has began to grow to the size of 2 tennis balls.
