Suddenly the outside temp readout on my digital display is running 3 - 5 degrees higher than actual. Had anyone had this problem? Any suggestions? Local Toyota dealer wants $39 to run a diagnostic test.

they should not charge anything, if you have less than 36,000 miles, covered under factory warranty, they should not charge you anything, possibilities, sensor by front grille, also sensor lower dash, if it becomes loose, will throw off sensor

fredbros is correct, they shouldn't charge a damn thing because of bumper2bumper. Although i'm going to tell you that on most cars with outside temp display the output isn't going to be exactly what it is outside because of engine temp alone, and then you have to factor in the sun's reflective heat off the car itself. Your temp is never going to be dead on. Although 5 degrees is a bit much for this time of the year and I would get it checked out.
