1999 Venture intake manifold gasket2Know 03-11-2004, 01:44 PM I too have a Venture with a 4.3L that has a leaking intake manifold gasket. I have been told that the repairs to my 1999 Venture would be around $500 - $600 for a "shop" to fix this for me. I'm going to do this myself but am wondering what to torque the intake manifold to when I put it back together. Can anyone answer this question and give me any advice that they have experieced when they did this job? Thanks! Scott Mcgaffey 03-15-2004, 10:14 AM Are you sure about the engine size, my 99 has a 3.4. we had the intake gasket done at about 36000, the dealer did it, and the price would have been aroun 1000,00. I got GM to cover it. It is a lot of work to do this, good luck. GMMerlin 03-18-2004, 11:56 AM 99 Venture comes with a 3.4 v6.. Usual price here at the dealer runs just under 700.00 At my shop it would run you about 350.00 mekanixs 05-25-2004, 06:52 PM Hello, I going to replace my parents intake manifold gaskets. I was wondering what brand of gasket is best to use. Craig ChoochCharlie 09-23-2004, 11:18 AM I did the intake man gasket myself with help from a friend in about 6 hours. That was 4 weeks ago. Today I changed the plugs and wires. Advice- change plugs and wires when doing gaskets. The rear plugs are a pain and would have been easy with the top of the engine off. richtazz 09-23-2004, 01:10 PM buy Fel-pro gaskets, part number ms90565, should run around $50. Get yourself a Haynes manual, as it will give you the proper torque sequence, as well as the torque value. If you are mechanically inclined, it's not that hard a job, just a little time consuming. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
