Heating element went bad, needs replacement, Honda wants an absurd amount of money for it. Curious as to the list price, since I can probably get it for that through a shop I know. Alternatively, any idea if the lifespan of the part would be any good if I got one from a junkyard?

Also, the tech said something about having "a high likelyhood of stripping the exhaust manifold" when I told him I didn't want them to do it. My brain raised the BS flag on that one, but I figured I'd ask some more knowledgable people first.

Nevermind, it turns out that the emissions warranty extension covers it. Despite an earlier report to the contrary by the service department at the dealership. Thank god. That thing is going to end up replacing half of my engine bay on Honda's dollar, methinks.
