99 Sub. Engine Dies While Drivinggsolt1 03-08-2004, 11:26 PM I have a 99 sub. with 93k and the engine randomly dies while driving. It's done it on the freeway as well as lower speeds. The engine cranks, but will not start. After a few minutes, it starts right up and may not happen again for days. I've had the fuel filter and fuel pump replaced and it's still happening. Any suggestions? amac209 03-09-2004, 06:09 AM check the fuel pressure. these things are very picky if it drops below 60 the injectors won't spray. i'd be looking at the regulator gsolt1 03-12-2004, 07:59 PM check the fuel pressure. these things are very picky if it drops below 60 the injectors won't spray. i'd be looking at the regulator Pressure checked out ok, so I tried replacing the fuel pump relay and that seems to have solved the problem. At least for now. Thanks Fortyfied 03-15-2004, 10:43 AM Have you eliminated the possiblility of intermitantly loosing ignition spark? gsolt1 03-21-2004, 09:43 PM Have you eliminated the possiblility of intermitantly loosing ignition spark? I did find a questionable battery connection that I fixed, but that didn't solve it. However, I just got back from a 3k mile vacation with no problems. I'm now confident that the fuel pump relay was the culprit. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
