check engine light 95 tocomatkrug685 03-08-2004, 06:29 PM i was driving home one day and my check engine light came on i tried dissconecting the battery to reset the computer but after a few hours of driving it came on again are there any comon reasons for this OBATDDSD 03-09-2004, 02:29 AM Its something serious enough to trip you check engine light right away. It could be something like a dirty maf or a blown cat converter gasket causing a faulty o2 reading. Invest in a inexpensive universal code reader for about $100.00 at your local part house. They are worth it if you plan on repairing your own truck. I also have a 95 tacoma. Good luck. thun 03-09-2004, 11:00 AM if you don't feel like dropping $100, most auto parts stores will check and print out the codes for you free of charge. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
