Looking at the chart, you can see that we've completely confirmed the three LM's that we actually have photographs of: XP1 LM, LM2, and LM3. We basically know the whereabouts of the two black ones (which are confirmed to exist...Mclaren doesn't lie), and the orange one (all three are supposed to be locked away in the Sultan of Brunei's garages). We have finally confirmed that LM2 is indeed in Japan, and that it is owned by Okamoto, who also owns 58F1GT, 053, and several more cars.

It is an interesting subject. Bravo peloton25 for your summary is very good :)

One thing : 1) you know that Sultan of Brunei owns 6 F50 not listed in 349 series, right ?
2) He has also some modfied 456GT and at least one in France. Each year, a 456 Venice is exposed in Louis Vuitton Classic in Paris, so it could be possible but impossible now to know where his "french" cars are :(
3) someone seen at start of Supercar Rally 02' told me that each year, many cars fron Bentley, Ferrari etc are bought by the sultan and maybe not listed.
4) some people here told that they have seen a LM ,at Phoenix I remember for example.

So I ask a question :
why not more than 5 LM ?

Cause McLaren can't be bought like Ferrari. Remember that Ron Dennis stopped the Sultan from buying all 5 LM's.

The people who say they have seen an LM at Phoenix probably saw an F1 road car with the HD kit.

As a tribute to the memory of Bruce McLaren, all the F1 LM's were painted in the same Papaya Orange that was used on his contemporary Formula One and Can Am cars

its in excel format and is VERY incomplete and i doubt i'll never be much more complete.

btw, the reason d.a says all lm's are orange is that Jefri's car buying habits weren't legal and (at least with the bentleys and rolls) there was no record of production of the cars. It was simply an exchange: cash for the keys.

I was looking into the buying habits of Prince Jaji Jefri Bolkiah, aka the Sultans brother. Found an article about his financial problems and over spending, which is common knowledge. But this article specifically named Mclaren, along with many other car manufactures including Bentley and Rolls Royce, to whom Jefri has a personal debt too. All the above company’s where apparently pushing legal action to retrieve the debt.

I’ve misplaced the link, but I’ll see if I can dig it out.

mini magic do you still have that faint picture in the sultans garage of the replica Ueno car. I’ve lost it; if you could post it again I would be greatful.

i like the idea of #54F1GT and the other 2 black lm's being in the sultan's hands, because we haven't seen pics of them , typical for the sultan's cars ( except the 465 venice estate,ferrari mythos + bolide etc............. )

it should be #04R. it had his days in the BPR GT Championship '95 and in the All Japan GT Championship '96 and disappeared after these races.
