Hi, I'm installing my system in my 99 escort. I'm almost done, But i can't find the firewall to direct my positive wire from the amp to the battery. I think i might have found it, but there is a round metal circle thing in the way. Any ideas? Thanks!

Duke.

sounds like you don't know what a firewall is. it's the "wall in the back of the engine compartment that all the pedals and stuff mount to. get a rubber gromet kit, drill a hole in the wall and plug it with the grommet and run the wire through the grommet. sometimes you can jam a wire through existing grommets such as the one for the throttle cable.

I've run into the same problem BishopDuke...on the passenger side is a rubber grommet, bout 2-3 inches in diameter. It is there for some wire to go through. Your not going to get it THROUGH the grommet, but better beside the grommet. Push it aside a little, and squeeze your cable through right next to it. I did it with 6 guage cable, it can be done. Easiest way to find it the first time is to look from the inside of the car towards the engine, you have to pull the carpet back a little bit, but it is there.
