I've never seen that first pic! :) Too bad part of the car is cut out :(, otherwise it could have been really nice! I'm almost certain both of those pics are from the McLaren photoshoot by Colin Curwood, which used 56XPGT. The wheels are the same as they were on the photoshoot, too, before they were changed. I think both of the pics are real, because the angles and everything appear to be different, and I'm sure Colin Curwood took many pics.

The "new" photo comes from a scan or photo of this book's cover:

http://i7.ebayimg.com/02/i/01/4e/d1/87_1_b.JPG

I'm hoping that book has more photos of that particular car inside, but I'm guessing that it won't. I already have this book by the same guys, with this alternate cover.

If they're identical inside, I may try to get rid of the copy with the LM on the cover since that is a fairly common photo whereas this one of the GT is not.

Too bad there isn't an all-around photo with the whole GT in it. One could scan the cover of that book and merge it together with the picture on exoticcarsite, but exoticcarsite's version is much smaller and wouldn't fit very well. However, it would still be nice to get a scan of that other book's cover, because that is yet another framable photo!

The cover of the book does have the whole photo, it's just cropped in that shot of the cover from the Ebay ad. The title on the book is centered, so you can't see the last inch or so of the cover in that shot.

Well then, I think I just found a new "favorite photo" of 56XPGT! Actually, I like them about the same, but since this one can be scanned at a high resolution, it would probably be better. Is that book sold in large numbers or is it rare? I hope not because I would probably buy it immediately if I saw it, and I would scan it for everybody's viewing pleasure! :)

I've seen that version of the book on Ebay twice in the past year. The first time I saw it, I either didn't bid or just didn't win the auction. This second time, I did end with the high bid and the book is on it's way to me now.

I don't know of any place to buy the book direct at the moment, but when I get it I would be happy to share the ISBN with you.
