Buick woes

I have a 97 Buick Lesabre Custom. I have had it about a year now. It has 75,000 miles on it. I Change my own oil very religously. About a month ago the check engine light came on. I checked everything I could think of and everything looked fine. The car ran fine and after just a few weeks the light went off. Now it is back on again and the car has a slight shake when it idles and hesitation when you step on the gas. I took it in to the mechanic and he says there are no codes showing anything is wrong.
Also last month I was driving in rainy conditions down the expressway and my wind sheild wiper fell off. Not the blade literally the whole arm. I have tried putting it back on about hundred times and can't get it. I would like to fix it as spring is coming and so is the rain.
I would really appreciate any help you could give me. I am semi mechanically inclined but keep it as simple as possible. I am still learning

As far as the engine idle and hesitation... I would wager your fuel pump or filter could be to blame. I know I've had problems with mine several times on my 95. However, my mechanical genius is not all the complete. ;-)
As for the wiper. I'm guessing the clip inside ther wiper arm broke. I'd say the best thing to fo is go to Wal-mart and get a new set with the arm and everything. They are only about $3/each I think. They have some instructions, while not the best if you look at both your car and pictures you'll figure it out. It's mostly just a push on application.

I would like to wager $15000 on the Ignition Coil(s).
The wiper arm costs $15-$30. Not three. Use a hammer with a rubber or nylon head to get it on. :)
