well i have a 1994 Red Rs Integra

i dont have the money right now to get it repainted.

i took off some badges and the black sticker stripe that went along the car and now the paint really shows the different tones of red because of the paint fading

is there anything i can do restore the paint myself?

i know there are a lot of products out there to protect the paint but it's already faded i just wanna know if there is anything i can do about it.

also if there is nothing i can do how much does it normally run to get it repainted stock color?

thanks a lot

No, there is nothing you can do (that I know of). Repainting will be pricey, but it varies widely dependent on what quality of paint is used ($300 - $3000).

There are some products - I believe some are calle pre-wax cleaners, to remove oxidized paint - that can remove some dead paint and somewhat restore a finish. It's a lot of hard work; takes a lot of hard rubbing. And, I doubt very much such products will completely eliminate the difference in color you explained, but I believe they would help. For a more aggressive solution, you can try a mild "rubbing compound" but be very careful with this. You can easily remove too much paint.

Visit an auto parts store and look at the various products. Ask store personnel; they may be able to give you some advice.

only way to do it would be to high speed buff the paint , which unless you have done this many times before i wouldn't try this especially on a red car , if you don't know what you are doing you can burn the paint and leave a bunch of swirl marks , i would take it to a detail shop and have them do it , run you about $100-$150 to have it done right

yes 1995 geo is right ryf, there are plenty of ways to bring your oxidized paint back to a decent luster, but unfortunately they take the experience to do it, the car can easily be buffed back to life by someone who knows what they are doing but in the wrong hands a buffer will rip right through your paint pretty quick. but he's right you can ghave a local detail shop do it for 100 bucks it just depends on where you live.
