My 95 Lesabre has issues with AOD. It will not engauge at all now.
Over the past two weeks, it has been going in and out and is finally gone.
I can do most anything with proper instruction, but have never done transmission work before.
First: any of you have any idea what this may be specifically.
Secondly: with 165000+ miles and peeling paint, is it worth fixing.
How much would a good, low mileage tranny cost, and how much of a bear is it to put in?

a complete rebuild, which is likely what you need, is about 1400....it could be just a solenoid is out, but with 165k....
if you have the 4T65E add $300 to that

As long as the fluid doesn't smell like burnt rubber, then all that needs to be done is check the electronics in the tranny. If those are okay, then new TCC. About $140. maybe cheaper. If you wanna re-build it yourself, I can help. E-mail me!
