Wind NoiseKahlja 03-02-2004, 01:40 AM Hey guys, I have a 1997 Rodeo (V6,4WD, 96,000 miles) I have been driving it for three years now and it has treated me well. I have always experience alot of "wind noise" while driving over 70 mph. It involves mainly the two front doors. At times it sounds like air is rushing in at the top of the door. When the wind is blowing outside the same noise occurs at around 45-50 miles per hour. All of the windows roll up all of the way and as far as I can tell the weatherstripping is in good shape. Other Rodeo and Passport owners have told me that they have the same problem. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks - Jeff amigo-2k 03-02-2004, 09:21 AM Maybe it is time for some new door seals. Or maybe you can just buy some house foam weather strip and stick it on the door, so you have seal to seal contact. The second option is a 5 buck, 5 minute job. -Ryan Kahlja 03-02-2004, 02:41 PM Thanks, I'll give it a try. - Jeff Kahlja 03-29-2004, 10:35 PM I checked all of the door seals and everything looked like it was in good shape. I went down to Home Depot and bought some black foam weather stripping like you had suggested. It took all of 5 minutes to put in and the problem is gone. Thanks - Jeff HotBacon 04-20-2004, 08:56 PM Kahlja - I'm so glad to hear you found a fix for this problem. The wind noise in my '97 is absolutely killing me. You used the black foam household weatherstripping...what size, and where exactly did you put it? isuzu_rodeo96 05-18-2004, 03:28 PM Kahlja - I'm so glad to hear you found a fix for this problem. Hi Kahlja, I have a similar problem, have you tried it. Does it work for you as well. No recalls :) BTW: This has definitely come up before, do a search for more info. chronodeco 07-27-2004, 12:11 PM I had the same problem several years ago on my 94 until I bent the door widow frames in slightly (I worked in an auto body shop years ago). I don't recommend that anyone do this without experience but a good shop can do it in about 10 minutes and it works great. Craig vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
