Where can i get a list of all the fault codes that show on the OBDII scanner? I there a website that i can go to? Any help would gratly be appreciated

hey thanks for the site man i really appreciate it. I tried top go to a Auto Zone in california, but the mechanic told me that no auto zone in this state will do a diagnositc for free anymore. But i found a shop that is willing to do it for me for $10. Now that i have the codes i can find where tjhe fault is at. Thanks again!

Yep, Autozone got sued in California claiming the free service was taking away from mechanics/service depts. work. They love that diagnostic fee since it is just gravy. Instead of going to court and winning Autozone just gave up and agreed not to do that in California.

i think that Auto zone needs to contest that ruling. Take it to the Supreme Court! :grinyes: Wel anyways i foound a cheaper place plus they give me the tools to fix what needs to be fixed.

These readers will only give you the code for codes that are locked in (steady check engine light), but it could easily pay for itself. I've seen HFT's list this as cheap as $29.

that is awesome, but does it get rid of the check engine light? I will invest in it, if it also rids me the problem of the glaring light.

On the OBDII system, once the condition that caused the CEL is resolved, the CEL will eventually go out after a pre determined amount of vehicle run time and/or start/stop cycles (depends on the code). You can clear the light by pulling power to and reseting the computer or with a more advanced scan tool, but there's no sense in clearing it if you have not fixed what is causing the CEL.
