'95 3.2L V6 Timing Belt

I've got a 95 3.2L V6 that the timing belt tensioner failed and one of the cams jumped about 8 teeth on the belt. The only had about 40K miles since the R&R and the tensioner was also changes - go figure. Got a new belt and tensioner and have everything all lined up.

Question - in the event of a belt failure (or my situation), do the valves clear the pistons or is it an interfeerance / collision situation?

Tnx.

Chilton/Haynes manuals say that they are interference engines, but there are people on this board that say they certainly are not. I'm more likely to trust that the people on this board know more than those stoopid manuals.
