2001 SanteFe

One of my keyless remotes is dead and the other works 25% of the time on my 2001. I have tried reprogramming but still the same. The dealer want over $200 for a new one. Does anyone know if remotes from later years can be programmed to work. I saw lots on Ebay but not for 2001 models. Thanks

Your dealer is trying to rip you off. List price on a new remote for that year Sante Fe is $76.81. Part # 95411-2D100. '01 and '02 Sante Fe's take the same remote, they changed for '03. I'll sell you one for $65, plus freight. I have 2 in stock right now. Even if the dealer was to program the remotes, it shouldn't cost over $200.

That was $200 Cdn but even with exchange is too much I will call another dealer and price it. Is it unusual for the remotes die after only 3 year and the one that is completely dead was stored and rarely been used.
Thanks

I have a remote for a '01 santa fe that i bought used by accident not knowing it didn't fit my '03. You can have it for the $10 i paid for it if you want. All it does is take up room in my ashtray

Do you still have this available?? My son left mine on the bumper of the car and managed to find the pieces...so I'm in need of one. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum,

what do you mean you managed to find the pieces. You crushed it?

Regardless I am sure lowsonoma can get you one at around the same price he mentions above, but that was back in march, prices might have gone up a bit.

If he doesn't, I still have them. Same price as mentioned above, I'll cover shipping for the US.

Not that I have anything to add to this thread - but I did want to say that Bob Rohrman's Indy dealerships are top notch. I use to live in Indy and have bought 2 Honda's from them in the past and couldn't have been happier with their service. I think it's fantastic that you are taking the time to post here to help out anyone who needs it. Thanks for your time John!
