Hello my friends.
I am writing from Brazil.
I have a Chrysler Stratus LX 1997, 2.5 Liters, V6, Automatic transmission with autostick, cruise control.
This model was manufactured to export to Brazil.
But there is a problem in the cruise control.
It is running perfect in all controls ( ON/OFF, CANCEL, RES ACCEL and SET COAST switches ), but after some minutes using the cruise mode, suddenly it stops work.
The only way to start again the mode cruise is turn off the engine and turn on again.
Then, the cruise mode begin running and after some minutes stops again.
I didn't find any fuse with problem or connection contact in the servo or vacuum pipe problem.
Do you have any experience or idea about this problem?

Thank you very much,

Best Regards,

The most likley cause is a faulty brake switch. The switch is sending a signal to the PCM that you are braking and turns off the cruise control. It is important that the ratchet adjustment is set correctly when replacing the switch. A less likely cause is a software issue in the PCM that would need a flash programing update for the PCM. This can only be done at a Chrysler Dealership with special equipment.
