3.4L 2WD Clutch Chatterjrbrodie 02-27-2004, 03:27 PM I have a 2000 3.4L 2WD tacoma. I'm super happy with it, however, when I bought it at 38 000 miles, the clutch has a moderately bad chatter on acceleration. The dealer promptly replaced the clutch, and now at 72k miles the chatter is coming back, not quite as bad, but seems to be gradually getting worse. When I mentioned it to the dealer, they claimed it was a 'wear item' and was not covered under my extended warranty. Has this happened to anyone else/is it possible that another component in my drivetrain is causing the clutch to prematurely fail? The clutch does not slip, I do not tow anything with this truck and I baby it (nothing that should prematurely wear the clutch). any ideas? John vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
