Does anyone know if the 325 can tow anything and how much?

Has anyone ever towed anything with a BMW 325i?

Don't know about towing regulations in America, and I only have specs for a European E36 car, but they be some kind of help -

From factory manual -

Trailer Loads
Unbraked - kg(lb) 670(1477)
Braked - kg 1600 (1675 for factory fitted towbar)
lb 3527 (3693 for factory fitted towbar)

I want to tow my MV Agusta motorcycle that weighs about 500lbs plus trailer thats about 300lbs on a 1400 mile trip. Based on what you said I think the car should handle it. I heard dealers in Europe actually install hitches but in the US they don't.
