I have a 98 bonneville and for about 2 weeks now i am not getting any heat.. initially i thought it was the coolant/water mixture as i was using close to pure coolant as there was a leak and never put in water just coolant. But now the temperature is flashing on my climate control and no matter was temperature i put it on im getting cold air.

Its winter and i would love to get some heat.
i think i can hear the actuator running but i could be wrong. Anyone have any idea how i can fix this???

Thanks
Ro

Are you sure you are not just very low on coolant? Open the rad cap when engine is cold and have a look. If you are down alot no water will reach the heater core.

It sounds like the door actuator might not be functioning properly. This makes the climate control system inoperable. Is the fan operating? Also check the inlet & outlet hoses to the heater core to see if they're hot.

If the display is flashing on your HVAC head that means you has a problem and it should have a stored code.

thanks for the info guys.. but couple of days ago i was driving on the highway and when i exited, the check engine light came on and the engine began to run eratically i pulled over and the engine stalled, i tried to restart but it wouldnt even turn over. i figured i had blowed my engine but it never got hot, oil wasnt even that hot. But i had no more coolant in the vehicle. I had it towed home. And i began taking the engine apart. I have now discovered that i have a crack in my head gasket and the coolant was getting into the engine.

so now the engine is in a hundred parts, i have to go buy a few gaskets and hopfully put this thing back together.. just hope i know what screw goes where.

can anyone offer any advise on how i can flush the water out of my system?

Thanks
Ro

and now i know why i didnt have heat for a week. the water never made it to the heater core, steaming away in the engine. weird think was there wasnt any unusual amount of steam from the exhaust??? weird.
