93 Bonneville Where is the EGR valve?jacki1419 02-24-2004, 06:53 PM I just had an emissions inspection and my car did not pass because of too much Nitric Oxide. I just had a catalytic converter put in in June 2003. The man said I probably need to clean the EGR valve, but I don't know where it is located. Does anyone know where it is or where to find out? FFrank 02-25-2004, 04:14 AM It is in an unusual place. It is cast into the plastic intake manifold. As you are looking at the engine compartment it is in the middle left hand side of the intake manifold. There is a a black plastic cap that you screw off and the pvc valve is in the recess exposed. markwb 02-29-2004, 09:00 AM Well, on the Series II N/A engines, the EGR valve is located in the area just aft of and inboard of the throttle body. Look for a flexible pipe coming out of the lower intake manifold underneath the TB and follow it back, you'll end up at the EGR valve. I believe the '92 3800's didn't have an EGR valve. Could it be possible that your engine even though car is '93 had a late '92 engine? Flatrater 02-29-2004, 02:32 PM The 3800 engine has always had an EGR! It is located right where markwb said it is. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
