Still looking for brake help!Shrubby 02-24-2004, 01:05 PM Anybody got any ideas on the ElCamino brakes? Help! Help! Help! Shrubby okie-chevy-man 02-25-2004, 12:47 PM yes.... GMMerlin 02-27-2004, 08:52 AM Anybody got any ideas, Shrubby yea, I got plenty...want to hear some? :icon16: Shrubby 02-27-2004, 11:25 AM What the Hell has the two above messages got to do with fixing my brakes. I adjusted the rear shoes outward and the pedal still has to bee pressed with the Power of Hulk to get the car to stop. Now, I'm thinking maybe it's the powerbooster after all. The drums are near their turning limit (9.59 in.) but still have half of the shoe wear left. RABarrett 02-27-2004, 03:41 PM You are likely looking at a brake booster, but I would check the vacuum going to it before replacing. Ray Shrubby 02-27-2004, 06:50 PM Thanks Ray. bwc13 02-27-2004, 08:54 PM you may want to look at the check valve before replacing the booster Shrubby 03-01-2004, 09:48 AM The jury is in. I replace the booster and the brakes will now throw you through the windshield. Thanks for everyone's help. Now it's on to the 1984 Chevy pickup problem of no power. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
