Flat knacker in my 2nd gen Civic - LOLSiRedge 01-03-2002, 02:35 AM Driving home from a round of golf this afternoon... in my 1982 (2nd gen) Civic wagon - it's a 1.3, with a mate in the car and the golf clubs in the back... I thought I'd see how fast I could convince it to go on the last bit of the motorway (highway for you overseas folk :D) before the speed limit changed back to 60km/h. I managed to get it up to 140km/h (87mph)... I was proud it could manage that sort of speed! :hehe: :lol2: Are ya proud of me?!? :hehehe: Not driving the CRX atm... the thermostat needs to be replaced as the motor keeps overheating :( PFCfutrell 01-04-2002, 05:36 PM That reminds me of a friend back home with a 1982 Volvo DL 4-speed manual 2.1 liter. His speedo tops out at 85 but on a clear day heading downhill we managed (after much effort on the 98hp mill) to pin the needle! We must have been going allmost 90 MPH! Pretty impressive for a car that does 0-60MPH (0-100KPH for you overseas :D ) in "YES". He gets beat by little old ladies in Toyota Tercels, poor guy, that car's stood up to his abuse amazingly well. SiRedge 01-05-2002, 07:01 AM My speedo tops out at 160km/h (100mph)... I'm just amazed it managed 87mph. It's always been my rattly old station wagon. Completely underpowered 1.3... I once tried to do a 0 - 60mph test in it... didn't really try all that hard but only managed a 17.something! LMAO! Still can drag off old Corollas... and a Celica I beat a few days ago :finger: So when I got it to do 140km/h (87mph), up a very slight rise.... well, I was grinning stupidly all over my face! Down a slight decline with a tail wind, I reckon it'd manage 95mph :D Okay, so I'm a loon - what's your point?!? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
