Check Engine Lightlisita007 02-23-2004, 04:30 PM My check engine light is on for my 1997 VW Jetta GLS. I have replaced the vacuum tubes, both oxygen sensors.....the new mechanic I brought it to told me the problem is the air flow sensor. I am looking to replace it someday...I really want to just get the light OFF. How can I disconnect the check engine light...or take the bulb out? Please let me know. Thanks! danray11 03-06-2004, 11:11 PM You cannot take the bulb out.. the only thing you can do is disconnect the pos batt cable for 2-10min and it will reset.. depending on the problem the light may stay out for 1 min to several days!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
