Tamiya RX-7 and S2000Prelude2Elude 02-23-2004, 03:26 PM this is my girlfriends (S2000) and my (RX-7) projects. this is her first model ever and my second one, but due to my non painting body skills my first model (Tamiya 350Z) was scrapped :disappoin (anyone wanna donate a body :iceslolan ). anyway we both started these last night so they need a couple of more coats. does anyone know why the S2's color looks like a championship white and not the color of Tamiya's Racing White TS-07. P.S.-she painted both of the bodies. and my color is Tamiya's Gun Metal TS-38 http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/113532DSC00615-med.JPG[/img [img]http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/113532DSC00610-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/113532DSC00609-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/113532DSC00607-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/113532DSC00606-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/113532DSC00605-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/113532DSC00611-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/113532DSC00612-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/113532DSC00613-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/113532DSC00614-med.JPG 86_SR5 02-23-2004, 03:32 PM dunno. but your fd looks like it needs some underside paint on the back bumper. the racing white is more creamy, so I would think it needs more coats?? I'm not sure, never used it, but they look great, best of luck to the both of you. labandabonnot 02-23-2004, 03:43 PM Tamiya's Racing White TS-07 is not a pure white: it was made to be painted on 60-70's race cars (like Tamiya Honda F1- don't remember the name....). It's a kind of white that tends to beige... It's a "retro" color that suits very well the S2K, I feel. It reminds us many roadsters in the sixties had this color!.... Good choice! Good to see a "couple project" too! I'd like to know something: in real life, would you say you're a "round" guy, and your girlfriend is a little "sharper"? (I don't mean physically speaking, of course!...) Don't need to answer this question! lol! Prelude2Elude 02-23-2004, 03:56 PM hmmmmmmm i dunno what u mean by that. labandabonnot 02-23-2004, 04:08 PM "Do your choices tell who you are?" That's what I meant... And "lol" because I'm stupid thinking about things like that! lol! You're lucky your girlfriend does more than understand your modeling activities! rx7king 02-23-2004, 05:20 PM sweet choice of kits to build clem24 02-23-2004, 09:36 PM Hey, the s2k looks great, but I think the FD needs a coat of primer... Other than that, keep it up! clem.. StephenDeli 02-23-2004, 10:28 PM looks like you girlfried got a little orange peel on the RX-7. But for her first time it looks very nice {(itchy)}{finger} 02-29-2004, 09:16 PM I don't prefer soda cans to hold my models, I use clothes hangers and bend them to fit the interior of the model; that way, you can turn the model anyway you want including upside down. Tell me if your confused, i'll send you a picture! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
