200 bucks what to do?spy54 01-02-2002, 07:08 PM i am gonna get an engine swap probly sooner or later so i dont really want anything for that but what could i really got for around 200 dollars? kris 01-02-2002, 07:18 PM Originally posted by spy54 i am gonna get an engine swap probly sooner or later so i dont really want anything for that but what could i really got for around 200 dollars? Well, if your sig is correct, you are running a stock car correct? I would say maybe save it. :bloated: I mean, there isnt much you could get. You would want to stay away from a engine mod now, since it will be a waste in the long run. Maybe go for a short shifter, or start on your suspension by getting some springs? jeef 01-02-2002, 07:20 PM well... you could save it for something big, maybe get a short shifter or some thing of the sorts jeef 01-02-2002, 07:42 PM haha jinks :D Marc-OS 01-02-2002, 08:04 PM I say go with an interior mod. maybe get some new speakers, or some other audio equipment. I would use it for insurance personally. SkyNex721 01-02-2002, 10:41 PM I have a question for kbslacker. If he puts the new springs on there, wont that kill his struts? Cause I wanted to do that to my car, but my friend told me that the stock struts wouldn't handle it. 91zc 01-02-2002, 10:48 PM Eventually the stock shocks will blowout since the lowering springs have a higher spring rate than the stock springs. Coilovers are even worse on the stock shocks. SkyNex721 01-02-2002, 10:52 PM Cause after I drop in the new engine, I will probably lower the car. And I was thinking of using either tokico or koni struts with ground control. I wanted to use Apexi but they don't make true coil overs for my car. spy54 01-02-2002, 11:09 PM yea i as thinking short shifter and indeglo gauges or maybe get the seats fixed but hey they dont bother me thats why its a project car right :sun: :D Phatwhippin_CRX 01-03-2002, 10:21 AM You swapping a B series engine in? AEM CAI for 99-00 Civic Si. Or Nuespeed Upper Strut Bar and DC sports short shifter... marked001 01-03-2002, 10:29 AM always drop first :D mellowboy 01-03-2002, 02:31 PM I'd say slam IT!! spy54 01-03-2002, 03:45 PM i dont wanna slam till i get a body kit b/c then it might be to low or something like that mellowboy 01-03-2002, 04:26 PM Originally posted by spy54 i dont wanna slam till i get a body kit b/c then it might be to low or something like that Yeah thats true. Well if were gonna drop it ...how much would u slam it? spy54 01-03-2002, 09:05 PM not alot probly like 1- 1.5 mellowboy 01-03-2002, 10:53 PM That wouldn't be too low for a bodykit. So i think you should go get them springs!:) spy54 01-03-2002, 11:54 PM but arn't coilovers better? mellowboy 01-04-2002, 12:05 AM Originally posted by spy54 but arn't coilovers better? Springs are usually more stiffer. Coils dont stay in place when you hit a bump. Springs are compressed and dont move but you need good shocks for either.I like springs better cause like i said, they're not as bouncy;) As for me..i got neuspeed 2 inch drop and with koni yellows:) I have no complaints about those! So which ever u like to go with its all good. spy54 01-04-2002, 12:51 AM what are some good brand springs? SkyNex721 01-04-2002, 01:00 AM Eibach and Neuspeed spy54 01-04-2002, 01:07 AM wont it kill my shocks? spy54 01-04-2002, 01:55 AM i can get ground control coilovers for 275 and eibach springs for 220 both on group buy but i heard ground control was really good spy54 01-04-2002, 05:39 AM im looking at the eibach pro-kit any opinions about it? actually the sportline offers a lower drop which is nice and well i want to get 16" rims would these work well? its hard b/c i want the wings west rs body kit, no one has a crx around here so its not played out, and rims but which would be better they are both nice Phatwhippin_CRX 01-04-2002, 11:21 AM I still say get a strut bar and shortshifter...lol Seriously, why get springs/sleeves, use your stock shocks, and have to re-install them later anyways. DO it right the first time, don't get springs until you have $$$ for performance shocks (like Tokico HBs if adjustability is not a problem). I seriously wouldn't recommend lowering it on stock shocks unless you like a blown suspension. Either save your $$$ for now... or get the springs or shocks, and dont install them. Or get 2 mods that are well worth the $$$ and ypou will definitely notice a difference from..... spy54 01-05-2002, 03:30 AM yea i am still thinking b/c i definatly dont wanna be bumping around with a blwon suspension spy54 01-05-2002, 04:09 AM any specific company i should look for a strut bar from or is it generally the same? Phatwhippin_CRX 01-07-2002, 09:33 AM I hear all different things .... some people swear they are almost all the same, others say they are not. For certain, I would NOT get a DC sports one... over-costed, and shitty quality. The DC strut bar is more for show than for performance (the thing BENDS :() I'd recommend a Neuspeed one..... when it comes to suspension, Neuspeed make some good ass shit..... Worshp 01-07-2002, 03:34 PM A strut bar is definitely worth it, but i'd get a nice Momo steering wheel or springs first...but then i'm a looks kind of guy!:D vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
