86-87 fuel injectersSoyo 02-22-2004, 01:06 AM ok I read somewhere that the 86-87 rx-7 fuel injecters were 550cc and were better than the newer FC models, I've never heard anything about this before so I thought I'd run it by you guys. my reason for asking is because my cousin is parting out his 87 GTU and I figured if his injecters are better I could take them and clean them and throw 'em on my car. while we're on the subject, was anything else on the 87 GTU better than the newer non-turbo cars? Soyo 02-23-2004, 11:51 PM bump... Jrat, Dayna, anybody? somebody has to know if this is right or wrong, come on people before he sells the car! ok but seriously he is about to sell the car to some guy in the next few days so if you know anything about this or anything else that is better on that model let me know quick. thanks J-Rat 02-24-2004, 02:57 PM N/A fuel injectors are all 460 CC injectors. Your N/A 91 wouldnt be able to use 550 CCs anyways, too much fuel. dayna240sx 02-26-2004, 09:20 AM The only thing that is better on the 86-87 GTU's than on your 91 is that the chassis is lighter. Other than that, you have the better car. jhillyer 05-22-2004, 01:53 AM The only thing that is better on the 86-87 GTU's than on your 91 is that the chassis is lighter. Here's a table: 1986-87 RX-7 195500-1350 Peak and Hold 460cc Red Top 1986-87 RX-7 195500-1370 Peak and Hold 550cc Tan Top 1988 RX-7 195500-1350 Saturated 460cc Purple Top 1988 RX-7 195500-1370 Saturated 550cc Purple Top 1989-91 RX-7 195500-2010 Saturated 460cc Red Top 1989-91 RX-7 195500-2020 Saturated 550cc Purple Top 1993-up RX-7 Twin-Turbo Saturated Primary 550cc Secondary 850cc I'm saying the '91 doesn't suck too much, because I envy lighter rotors and round tail masks.
