Please take a peek at how the door goes together on my Porsche. Notice how the window frame is made from separate pieces. The window glass is supposed to support the frame. I want to replace the kit window with thinner clear plastic, and make a functional sliding window ,but I am worried about a weak glue joint where the frame meets the door. Any suggestions?

Also....see how the door panel is secured with screws? I need to fill these screw holes, but the panel is made out of a soft slippery type of plastic. Neither Super glue , epoxy nor Squadron Green putty will stick to it. Again any suggestions???

Thanks guys

You'll need to replicate the kit window frame part out of brass strip.
Just make it a little longer so you have a way to attach it to the inside of the outer door. (or you can use the kit vent window part of the frame and keep the kit supplyed part of the window for support...) Yah.. just add some of the little special shapes channel to run the 'glass' in.
To plug the holes use some stretched sprue. Just friction fit them and sand the ends flush.
:p

For the first problem, try to increase the contact surface as much as possible, and then reinforce it with brass rod. I'd extend the bottom of the frame, using plastic rods with metal rods added inside, then cut the door to accommodate the extended sections, and fix those extensions with epoxy putty.
For the second problem, use a needle file and make the screw hole coarse. That way, epoxy putty will grab the surface. When smoothing. use super glue. You can't blend epoxy and soft vinyl. So, try brush-painting the primer fairly thick, and smooth it instead. Avoid bending the part, or primer will crack)

I do not want the windows to roll down.....just slide back and forth. That is how ther actual car is.

Thanks I have considered both ideas. I am thinking the reinforcement with brass wire will work.
