New Project........Something different.mike united 02-21-2004, 01:59 PM This is only my second attempt at something other than Tamiya. Yes.......only ever built Tamiya kits before but as they (Tamiya) aren't releasing anything of interest these days i've decided on something different. I dont trust Fujimi so i bought a couple of Aoshima's VIP kits, so here goes......my first progress thread. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/59883pic-med.jpg The Kit........actually is a quality kit, bit of sanding to do but well worth it. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/59883Pict0684-med.jpg Ok.......Body with side skirts, front & rear bits in place, a couple of bits blu tacked in place & racinghart rims. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/59883Pict0681-med.jpg Body again, this time with original rims, dont know which one's to use !!! http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/59883Pict0686-med.jpg Rims........original or Aoshima's new Racingharts Later, Mike :smokin: aviv 02-21-2004, 02:05 PM nice!! use the black rims! labandabonnot 02-21-2004, 04:20 PM Why not?!... Even looks like iv'e white panel lines.....not the case. Does anybody else have a Konica Revio KD-410z, 4.0 Pix, cos if so i sure would appreciate some advice on better picture taking with this particular camera. Later Mike. :smokin: aviv 02-25-2004, 11:07 AM nice progressing vwman 02-25-2004, 12:11 PM Otherwise cool :), but i see little orange peel :( mike united 02-25-2004, 12:51 PM Ha Ha !!! You wont beleive this but that is the only bit of orange peel on the whole van.................. Anyway you wont see any when it's dried properly and ive worked on it. Might even clear coat it too actually. Later, Mike. :smokin: tpliquid 02-26-2004, 01:56 AM very very nice, use black rims! stagger it up! labandabonnot 02-26-2004, 06:54 AM very very nice, use black rims! stagger it up! lol! I agree: very nice, indeed! About the rims: make your own choice, but paint them black!.... lol! mike united 03-07-2004, 12:50 AM Just a quick update........ Decided to strip the paint off this one as it was too thick, re-painted with TS 40 (metallic black) and clearcoated several times. Getting a nice shine on it now, still a bit of compound stuck in the panel lines. It should be finished any day though now............ http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/59883Pict0779-med.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/59883Pict0778-med.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/59883Pict0780-med.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/59883Pict0783-med.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/59883Pict0784-med.jpg Once again..the undersides arent easy to paint on some of these aoshima kits (similar to tamiyas 350z) so it feels nice to see how its turned out. Later, Mike. :smokin: tpliquid 03-07-2004, 03:23 AM very nice paint job VIP !!!! Red51 03-07-2004, 05:48 AM Can see the paint much better now.
