My Bonne is getting worse. Between 35 and 70 mph, it seems as though the engine OR tranny is skipping, jerking, chugging, or missing. It's kind of like my old cavelier, whereas I had to unplug the overdrive sensor and it was fixed. But with this car, If I take it out of overdrive manually (on the stick) it still wont go away. I had my plugs changed recently (mech said wires were good) and that fixed it for awhile. Someone told me that it has to do with the coil packs, cylinders not firing at the right time, possibly that electrical thingy that the packs are attached to with wires coming out being corroded? The car does NOT stall, nor does it happen upon deceleration. It starts fine every time, but the exhaust sounds like its puffing irregularly at idle. I've checked the other posts and am trying to narrow this down with as much info as I can.

I have a 93 and mine was doing the same thing. Change the plug wires. I changed mine and it made all my shuddering go away. Have not had the problem since.

I believe it's called the Ignition Control Module (ICM). This is what the coil packs plug into. I would wonder if it's throwing a fault code?
