S14 w/ R33 modification *UPDATE* *PICS*blueboost 02-19-2004, 07:31 PM New project WELL on its way. I will have in-progress pictures updated to this thread in a week or so. I am loosely basing my project on Non Fujita's S14. the project is a Fujimi S14 silvia, with a Tamiya R33 GTR bumper grafted on, S15 spec-R sideskirts custom fit to the S14, and a one-off custom rear bumper. all of the above modifications have been performed and one light coat of primer has been applied. At this point I will take pics for you when the primer is dried. for now, heres some pics of the car with the same front end I am trying to duplicate. I will most likely go with Tamiya bright red for the color. http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/fujita%20side.jpg http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/fujita%20front%20side.jpg http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/fujita%20front.jpg wish me luck! 86_SR5 02-19-2004, 10:31 PM the car looks mean, and since the nismo R32 came out so well, I'm sure this will too. nis.k.a. 02-19-2004, 10:39 PM It's amazing isn't it? Non was one of the first stateside with the Nissan bug and after all this time his car is still one of the tightest around. This should be a good project. jswillmon 02-19-2004, 11:26 PM Now this is what i call a good project. Make with the pics already, I can't wait. vwman 02-20-2004, 11:25 AM That is very interesting project :iceslolan Good luck :loser: blueboost 02-20-2004, 01:22 PM It's amazing isn't it? Non was one of the first stateside with the Nissan bug and after all this time his car is still one of the tightest around. This should be a good project. it is.. He's definately got style. if you look at the pics you can see theres no intercooler, he hadn't even swapped his KA24 engine out yet during that photo shoot. well thanks for the comments you guys. I'll be sure to update you w/ some nice pics. most of the hardest work is DONE! :smokin: flyonthewall 02-20-2004, 01:28 PM It looks class! Looking forward to seeing the results. blueboost 02-20-2004, 01:32 PM what do you guys think about tamiya bright red for the color? JDM-AE86 02-20-2004, 02:28 PM u do kno that his car has since changed alot from those pics right? http://i.xanga.com/projectprelude/DSCN2721.JPG thats what it looks like nowadays, and to prove it heres a site selling artwork of his car http://www.optionimports.com/nonfus14siar.html chaos 02-20-2004, 06:02 PM Looks a like an interesting project - keep us updated. blueboost 02-20-2004, 06:14 PM yes. its nice isn't it? I will not flare the fenders or add the additional lip to the GTR front facia. I am looking for something a little more.. factory. I've used ONLY actual Nissan bodyparts from other Nissans. Im taking the lines I like from other cars and blending them into this car. Orion37170 02-20-2004, 06:15 PM looks real hot! wish you luck with the model remus_nl 02-21-2004, 04:24 AM :iagree: !! blueboost 03-05-2004, 03:25 PM Got some pics up today. you can see the front portion of the S15 sideskirt being extended and blended in. I used tamiya epoxy putty for the puttywork this time. http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/DSCF0017.gif the rear portion of the skirts were extended also. I centered the sideskirt and extended each end. http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/DSCF0021.gif needs a final touch up but.. should be fine. http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/DSCF0019.gif here you can see the rear bumper, I basically cut apart a bumper from the Fujimi S15 K's kit, and used the parts to beef up this S14 bumper. http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/DSCF0016.gif http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/DSCF0018.gif heres the bumper before I attach it. its already been (cut from a tamiya R33 GTR, cut in half, decreased its width, reassembled.. I wish the pic would have been sharper. http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/DSCF0020.gif more pics when the model is completed Towelboy80 03-05-2004, 04:28 PM Cool project, you don't use the original fixing of the bumper is maybe easier to attach it? I've put R32 headlights on a S14 (before facelift) but I didn't think adapt a R32 bumper on this car.... maybe later ;) http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/685901S14-Front1.JPG Orion37170 03-05-2004, 04:38 PM LOVE IT  can't wait to see it completed! Orion37170 03-05-2004, 04:49 PM @towelboy: are those rims form the F-150 SVT Lightening? Cool Idea! Towelboy80 03-06-2004, 04:11 AM @towelboy: are those rims form the F-150 SVT Lightening? Cool Idea! Yes that's right, but F-150 SVT in scale 1/18. ;) Snooker 03-06-2004, 01:10 PM That Silvia looks hot, can't wait to see it finished. OzZySi 03-06-2004, 09:54 PM Neat. I have a calender with the car you posted pictures of in your first post in it. Good luck, this should turn out great. SpoonMan Dos 03-06-2004, 10:02 PM This looks to be a very promising model. I also would like to see it in bright red. Any plans for the hood? Toyotagt1 03-06-2004, 10:08 PM You ccan use the SAS nismo 400R body kit for the bumper, fender flares rx7king 03-06-2004, 10:45 PM this is a cool project, im gonna have to keep an eye on it for updates blueboost 03-08-2004, 03:05 PM thanks for the comments guys. I love sharing my builds here. its my friday so I hope to start wrapping this up over my weekend. Towelboy80- I haven't sorted the attachment of the bumper. looks like it will be pretty straight forward so Im not too concerned. spoonman- no real plans for the hood. open for suggestions though. I would either paint the model tamiya bright red, leave the hood alone, or Im considering going with a tamiya gunmetal/lite gunmetal and doing SAS carbon fiber hood. :dunno: toyotaGT1- I have that SAS kit. I planned to use it on the R33 GTR kit I butchered for the front bumper in the pics. Im not really interested in doing the fender flares honestly. Im looking for clean, with an almost factory sort of look. primera man 03-08-2004, 04:07 PM Nice !! 86_SR5 03-08-2004, 09:57 PM Factory S33 ? Yeah. I say go light or dark gunmetal with lots of clear, and loads of wax for that shine, and CF hood. I been subscribing to SS for a while, and this year no free calender for me :( niamod 03-11-2004, 10:46 AM Im not really interested in doing the fender flares honestly. I really want this kit to come out very clean, with an almost factory sort of look. I agree, Silvias don't really need that much flare. I've always liked that car. If you could match the color on the original car, I think it would look cool. aviv 03-11-2004, 10:48 AM nice indeed! ImolaEK 03-11-2004, 12:52 PM Looks perfect, i love that S14 :smokin: blueboost 05-24-2004, 02:56 PM Hi all. Update today. Bodywork complete, painted Tamiya Bright Red TS-49. 6 coats. going to order tamiya wax and polish and go at it p-man style. finished product will have carbon fiber hood. I am leary of using SAS carbon fiber this time, it may look too light. I want a dark look to the components like hood, spoiler, wheels etc.. Would you guys recommend the SMS carbon fiber decal instead for this model? there will be a GT wing of some sort, and I like the wheels that are on it now, but I will most likely switch gunmetal TE37's like these: http://www.rdmwheels.com/volk/te37gunmetal.jpg here's some pics. appologize for some of the blurryness. It was the best I could do without owning a digital camera (yet) dont worry about any frame you can see through the front bumper. that work is yet to be done, there will be an intercooler there etc.. http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/4.jpg http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/5.jpg http://web.tampabay.rr.com/blueboost/images/1.bmp sorry for the blurr http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/3.jpg http://blueboost.blacblam.com/images/6.jpg MR2_Lancer 05-24-2004, 04:08 PM sick...man i love that car. nice paint too. what wheels are those in the red pics? i might have to get a set Orion37170 05-24-2004, 04:11 PM I love it. Hope to see more soon labandabonnot 05-24-2004, 04:42 PM  Very Nice! (that's a very-P-man-like post, isn't it? ;)) Bas Carwash 05-24-2004, 05:16 PM That car is looking awesome! Nice color and rims choice. Keep it up! doucmehu 05-24-2004, 07:00 PM Awesome bodywork and paint! tonioseven 05-24-2004, 07:26 PM Glad to see you're still working on it!:) nis.k.a. 05-24-2004, 07:48 PM That's a SWEET lookin' Nissan! ImolaEK 05-25-2004, 08:41 AM Awesome job with that front bumper. Maybe lowering it more will make it better and putting some Canards on the front bumper :iceslolan Cychalen 05-25-2004, 08:54 AM Somehow I failed to notice this thread until now. Love what you did with the bumper. blueboost 05-25-2004, 11:59 AM Thanks for the kind words everyone! :D the wheels are Fujimi 18in. workmeisters I'll fiddle w/ some canards on the front and see what it looks like ;) what do you guys think, the gunmetal TE37's or the workmeisters its currently resting on? 675datsun 05-25-2004, 12:02 PM Keep the current wheels! I really like this Silvia, the R33-style front end is perfect and the side skirts are very tasteful. Layla's Keeper 05-25-2004, 12:26 PM Looking good and I'm loving the Workmeisters. Great wheel style if you ask me. fujimituner235 05-27-2004, 12:07 AM keep it wingless! DJPaul 05-27-2004, 11:50 AM Nice, nice, nice blueboost 12-02-2004, 02:37 PM came lookin for this thread and realised I never updated this thread w/ the final pics, so- for continuity sake: http://web.tampabay.rr.com/blueboost/images/areal%20frontal%20clear.bmp http://web.tampabay.rr.com/blueboost/images/areal%20back%20crystal%20clear.bmp http://web.tampabay.rr.com/blueboost/images/covershot.bmp http://web.tampabay.rr.com/blueboost/images/rear%203d%20clear.bmp http://web.tampabay.rr.com/blueboost/images/interior.bmp http://web.tampabay.rr.com/blueboost/images/areal%20side%20acceptable.bmp http://web.tampabay.rr.com/blueboost/images/front%20shot%20close%20up%20decent.bmp mrceej 12-02-2004, 02:46 PM Very nice work! Extremely clean! I have an extra Silvia model that I don't know what to do with, I was playing around with the idea to Non Fujita's car, but I'll do something else since it'll basically end up like yours. Very very very nice work again. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
