Quick Crazy Project - Ed Roth's Outlawzanthrax 02-18-2004, 02:57 PM I wen't shopping for some models and came home with this: http://infonuke.com/albums/album208/IMG_4235.sized.jpg http://infonuke.com/albums/album208/IMG_4232.sized.jpg http://infonuke.com/albums/album208/IMG_4236.sized.jpg All parts painted now and the engine is completly built. There aren't to many parts in this kit and most off them are tiny and chromeplated. So building won't go that fast. And some other models I finished recently. http://infonuke.com/albums/album199/Img_4231.sized.jpg http://infonuke.com/albums/album197/IMG_4048.sized.jpg http://infonuke.com/albums/album207/IMG_4221.sized.jpg http://infonuke.com/albums/album193/img_3985.sized.jpg Just check my gallery for those. http://www.infonuke.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album162&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php Ferrari TR 02-18-2004, 05:24 PM nice! Very old-school... I like the Diablo, though it's hard to tell what color it is from your pix. :p zanthrax 02-18-2004, 05:28 PM The Diablo is limegreen. I'll make some daylight pics soon. GTmike400 02-18-2004, 05:35 PM Big Daddy Roth, long forgotten. Nice build. Put Rat Daddy Fink on there if you know how to airbrush. zanthrax 02-18-2004, 05:45 PM Big Daddy Roth, long forgotten. Yeah... that man built/designed some great cars. It surprised me that a search on 'Ed Roth' didn't turn up any models... For the people how don't know his work: http://www.mrgasser.com/littlejewel.htm I can't airbrush, but if this one turns out nice i'll probably build the Beatnik Bandit too. I also found a Ratfink statue by Revell. Might make a nice carshow diorama. GTmike400 02-18-2004, 05:59 PM Yeah... that man built/designed some great cars. Incredibly tacky but innovative. The only "models" from Roth that I knew of were Hot Wheels. willimo 02-18-2004, 06:17 PM Ed Roth forgotten? Noooooo..... That's just crazy. I know this board is mostly import, but come on. I would say a good dozen or so regulars here know well our roots in customs. Even I know Roth, and I'm all about imports and performance... the antithesis of Roth's domestic show cars. There are many kits of Roth's show cars. Go to Dave's Show Rod models (http://www.showrods.com/home_page_links/home.html) to check them out. There are a ton of other show rods, done in some Ed Roth and not-so-Ed-Roth style including all the ones of the cars he built. There is some cool stuff on that site, its worth a gander. But no, the Big Daddy ain't forgotten. zanthrax 02-19-2004, 06:09 AM Revell used to make a lot of Ed Roth's cars into kitform. Some of those kits have been re-issued in 2000. vwman 02-19-2004, 08:44 AM Hmmm... loaded with chrome. Coool!!! zanthrax 02-19-2004, 09:55 AM Got some more work done on The Outlaw. http://infonuke.com/albums/album208/Img_4255.sized.jpg http://infonuke.com/albums/album208/Img_4262.sized.jpg and I took some daylight pics. http://infonuke.com/albums/album197/img_4287.thumb.jpghttp://infonuke.com/albums/album194/img_4268.thumb.jpghttp://infonuke.com/albums/album193/img_4280.thumb.jpg dag65 02-19-2004, 04:10 PM :ylsuper: JBarry 02-20-2004, 07:49 AM LONG LIVE ED "BIG DADDY" ROTH! 1932-2001 I grew up building his models, the only buck worth spending at the toy store. I don't even think we had spray cans back then. I remember brush painting the bodies. I have his TWEEDY PIE 2 model on the shelf. It's a skill level 3 and I'm still on the 'snap to' stage of modeling, I'll get to it sometime in the next year or so :) :) http://www.showrods.com/images/all_others/all_gallery_img/tweedy_pie2_1/tweedy2.3 Take a look at his kits from over the years at:Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's kits (http://kaparich.homestead.com/rothkits1.html) RIP BIG DADDY. We hardly knew ya but we'll will never forget ya! J. Barry zanthrax 02-21-2004, 08:20 AM http://infonuke.com/albums/album208/Img_4301.sized.jpg http://infonuke.com/albums/album208/Img_4311.sized.jpg http://infonuke.com/albums/album208/Img_4312.sized.jpg http://infonuke.com/albums/album208/Img_4309.sized.jpg Done. I messed up a bit on getting the decals around the corners... :( But overall it came out better then I had expected. I thought it would fall apart with all those tiny bits. Mainly the engine and front suspension are very fiddly. Next up: Fujimi Lamborghini Countach LP500S, 100% handpainted, 4 full opening doors. labandabonnot 02-21-2004, 08:49 AM Very nice! About your next project: handpainted Countach! lol! Welcome to the club! Can't wait to see it done! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
