Cant do much untill i get some more paint for my 206 Pug...so i thought i'd start another project using the wheels from the Pug.
I've always been a fan of this car and looking forward to building it.
Will need a little bit of lowering for the look i will be looking for.
Any comments welcome. :)

Hey I didn't realize that engine had a motor; there was one in my hobby shop for a while and I suppose I should have picked it up. The paint, of course, is immaculate. That thing is gonna be slick, P-man, looking forward to what ever you have in store for it.

Jigga What thats not painted holly shiznit!!!!! ANyways you should add an intercooler to it so it can look like the Celica ALL TRACK and with your skills P-Man its going to be the shiznit. I have the same kit (TAMIYA RIGHT) with the rims from the PIAA Accord but i havent had the time for it. Im going to keep an eye for this thread.

I have to say that it is a very nicely finished mold....One of the best i've come across.
Almost seems a shame to paint it !!

willimo
02-18-2004, 12:40 AM
Seriously! There must be no mold lines on the thing whatsoever. That's just incredible, considering the complex curves. Man do I ever feel stupid now! I guess I really should have picked one up....

SniperX13
02-18-2004, 01:11 AM
You should just paint it Metallic Black :)

No need to feel stupid.....i would have said the same now that i've looked at the pic.

I'm thinking of leaving it black as a nice shiney paint will bring out the nice lines of the car

That looks unreal in Black with the white wheels. Keep it like that with a big intercooler.
I'll be following this one!

LOL :D Surprised nobody else noticed that one ;)

Looks wicked even unpainted - I say stay with black paint and white wheels.

The famous P-man shine, even without paint!... lol!
Oh please, don't put wings on it! Sure the car looks best like it is! I've been surprised not to see more of this kit built here, so your project is welcome...
I'm already preparing my vote for the best model of the year! lol!

Good choice of wheels; I really don't like the stock ones. I say go with the rear wing because I think it would look odd with the aggressive front end and nothing to balance out the rear styling.

I missed this how? P-man, is the motor in the celica already a turbo? Adding an intercooler to a N/A motor would be, well, stupid. I've never had this kit, that's why I'm asking. The pugs wheels look great, but i'd suggest a bright blue, like on the calsonic gtr you built, but that's my opinion. Hope to see more soon.

Hey, can't wait for this one. Back to the wing, put it on IMO. If you don't want a wingd version, buy the SSII variant. I have seen a lot of 1:1 versions buzzing around my area and they look pretty good with the WRC wings on.

It's not really a WRC wing. They're just spacers that you add to the original spoiler. Toyota charges an arm, a leg, AND a kidney for these things too...

Well, after months of doing nothing on this kit i finally have got it out and started to build again after moving and unpacking all my modelling gear again.
The body has been sanded and over the next few days will be primed and painted.
Other parts today have been removed from there sprue's and sanded ready for painting.
So far a nice kit. Usual good detail from Tamiya with no problems so far. Seats needed abit of work as they did have a fair amount of flash on them.
Another update when the body is painted
