I recently bought an '85 325e which has had all of its inspections and checkups and maintenance schedules performed. The car has 236k miles (on the original engine) and is still running strong; therefore, I think it would pay off in the long run if you got the 60k service performed. I don't know anything about prices, though- maybe someone else can help you there.

I would get the 60K mile service....

If for nothing else, it looks good to have documented service intervals performed by the dealer...
