Handling

chalk this one up to my inexperience, but i was wondering how a 240z's handling is compared to modern cars? and if you did drop in a SBC how would that effect your handling. i know that if you follow the JTR example the engine is pushed back a few inches closer to the firewall, meaning all your weight would be behind the front struts, but at the same time your adding 140 lbs.

what does all this equal out to??

You add 100lbs to the front, and 40lbs to the rear of the car. If you use an all iron chevy block.

Aluminum Heads, Intake, water pump, other lightweight goodies will drop that weight down to about 85lbs gained.

When dropping the SBC into the S30 chassis you gain a 50/50 weight distribution. Datsun set the car up with a 51/49 distribution from the factory.

Just upgrade your suspension to like Tokico 5 way adjustible's, with springs and some urethane bushings. And some strut bars... and it'll hand better than stock. Infact, it'll down right embarass some modern cars.

Happy trails.
