Jetts 02-15-2004, 03:26 PM why, underbody neon is gay it looks stupid ShortyDTP 02-15-2004, 10:38 PM Hey Bret when are we doing another meet here in Arizona? And yeah Neons are gay but here in AZ you are not suppose to have Red Or Blue . ShortyDTP 02-15-2004, 11:21 PM ohhh yeah PM me and let me know what you think. madmax40965 02-22-2004, 12:39 AM Actually the only colors allowed to show from the front of your vehicle are amber and white. The rear red and amber. One more thing all headlight covers are illegal as are the cute clear euro style lights you see in some cars now. This is per Federal dot. So depending upon the mood of the officer you can be ticketed for just about any variation. Oh yea , the snake eyes...they are illegal too unless they are amber...then I don't know. xjoeharperx 02-22-2004, 01:18 AM Neon shoud be illegal.. MexSiR 02-23-2004, 12:46 AM I think all streets in the world should be lighted with neon so theres no point in having neon lights because they will not show. Dumb reply. FranKey 02-29-2004, 10:12 PM i think neon should be illegal ,it serves no purpose freakonaleash1187 02-29-2004, 11:54 PM i have never heard of euros being illegal or blackouts being illegal. if they are, i have never heard of anybody getting in trouble for it. behvah78 03-01-2004, 12:13 PM How about he behind the grill and hood scoops neons?? RocketDSM 03-20-2004, 08:41 PM The entire debate about vehicle lighting here is missing one important point. 99% of the states have a limitation that states "when the vehicle is in operation on a public road" or something to that effect in the local legal jargon. Basically, it only matters while the car is moving. As long as you don't drive around with them on, no problem with any colors. When moving, EVERY color is illegal (for underbody illumination). As for the Euro lenses and blackouts, yes SOME are illegal. APC specifically makes sure that theirs are fully legal. I note them because they are one of the largest lighting manufacturers for the aftermarket. The issue for blackouts is the reduction of illumination power that makes it through the blackout cover. If it is too reduced, then it IS illegal. The Euro lenses have had a similar issue. Euro lenses also had problems with not using proper reflectors in the lenses and such which therefore didn't make enough light. Lastly, that I know of, was that some lenses of both types were not made of the proper plastics and would shatter too easily. Yes there are even DOT standards on the plastics used. Boss San 03-22-2004, 02:15 AM Neon should be kept in the disco's. It's different everywhere. Oh and around here it's only illegal if the actual light is visable. Go figure. I don't know why it would be considered impersonating an officer. I'm sure they have better taste than neon. madmax40965 03-31-2004, 11:40 PM The euros are illegal if the bulb is what is supplying the color. The are some more restrictions that I cannot remember offhand. You might also like to know that according to DOT anything that covers the headlights is illegal, no one enforces it , but they are. Try doing a goggle search on it. They can be clear and to DOT they are still illegal. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
