N/A ===> turbo convertionRB25240kouki 02-15-2004, 01:48 AM Im about to buy an 89 GTUs. This car has a series 4 block (the rest of the stuff like intake mainifold ingition came of the origional) in it with 80 miles (rebuilt at 40,000). Im getting the other series 5 that came with it but only one rotor and one rotor housing are good... the other two of each are trash. I want to make a turbo car. First off i know you have to build a turbo motor... so is it save to say if i get new rotors and new rotor housings (turbo of course) I can use alot of the other series 5 stuff (end plates, mid plate, ingition) I know id have to get the other turbo stuff like the maifolds and such. But what I want to know is if this is even a practical idea. Also would it be easier just to go find a blown TII (motor or whole car) and rebuild that motor. And just so you know I do know that I have to have the TII tansmision. All feedback is apriciated!. Mike MBTN 02-15-2004, 06:27 PM I say just look for a TII car/motor and use that. Seems like a lot of work the other way. RB25240kouki 02-16-2004, 04:03 AM Im probably going to just stick N/A... Street port after I gain some better driving skills and if I ever REALLY want a turbo... just buy a TII. Funny story about the car. Was on my way to buy a GTUs when the guy calls me and says "turn around ... I blew the motor". He said he over reved it to 9500 and blew it. I know why it blew though. It had a series 4 "block" with the rest of the stuff off the origonal series 5. The redline on series 4 is 7500 but on a seires 5 its 8500. So he was over reving the crap out of it... but hey its getting a new motor and his price is only going up $500 ($3500). But anyway Im going to start a thread about this. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
