Anyone know about...Aruba27 02-14-2004, 11:46 AM does anyone know the stats on 15a, 13g, and 21a rotaries? also, does anyone know where you could find one? Soyo 02-14-2004, 11:50 AM does anyone know the stats on 15a, 13g, and 21a rotaries? also, does anyone know where you could find one? :wtf: Aruba27 02-14-2004, 11:56 AM look them up, they exist. they're crazy. 15a is a bigger rotor rotary, same with 21a. i think the 15 is a 2 rotor, and i'm not sure about the 21a. the 13g is a 3 rotor, but i don't know each rotor displacement.... yeah.. it's crazy. there's also a 6 rotor rotary engine out there somewhere, but it used very tiny rotors i'm pretty sure. Aruba27 02-14-2004, 12:05 PM J-Rat 02-14-2004, 02:22 PM Mazda never produced anything like that. They might be aftermarket motors... Aruba27 02-14-2004, 09:34 PM ok, well i had seen something on them. yeah, it didn't say anything about who made them. well, they looked pretty crazy, so i just wanted to know if anyone knew stats on them RB25240kouki 02-19-2004, 12:27 AM Mazda never produced anything like that. They might be aftermarket motors... OOOOOOOO yes they did. Here is a website I found just searching around. It didnt work for my friend but it did for me. If you go to the bottom of the page he has info on ALL (I think) the rotary motors (including test/experimentals). http://me.a-spec.ca:6001/Rotary.html J-Rat 02-24-2004, 03:06 PM The majority of those are racing/prototype motors. Good luck getting a hold of one! FDTT 02-25-2004, 01:31 AM His point was that mazda did produce the motors. They were not aftermarket motors, rather one offs. But Mazda still produced the engines. nemeii 02-26-2004, 01:07 AM Mazda also had a miniproduction of the R26B (no not nissans RB26DETT) This was a four rotor config used in the '91 leman's race , the engine was mated to a porsche 5 speed tranny i believe. 600h.p / 300lb/ft. tq all n/a. I have been looking for this engine for a while, rumor has it that some where rebuilt and put into a couple baja race boats. but i havent seen any trace of their existance outside of the rumors.....maybe ill have to build my own..... nemeii 02-26-2004, 01:13 AM p.s.- i have a picture of an R26B (R@B) dated in june sometime as my desktop wallpaper so i must be getting closer =D for more info on the beefyness go to: www.mulsannescorner.com (http://www.mulsannescorner.com) DevoutWankelist 02-26-2004, 02:35 AM I thougt that the current location of the lemans winning r26b was in the smithsonian Soyo 02-26-2004, 05:30 PM there were only two R26B engines made, there was no miniproduction. Well they probably had more than one for each race car, but they were purely race engines, and have never been available to consumers there was a R26B engine used in the Lemans 787B racer back in 91 and it was 654cc x 4 rotors=2616cc with 700hp and 448 torque then another R26B was used in the RX-792P in the USA's IMSA GTP series. it was lower in power, 650hp 420lbft although I don't know if either were turbo or not, never have found that out for sure. but from pictures I've seen, it seems like they are both non-turbo I believe the 20B was the engine used in race boats, I could be wrong though. heres a site about the engine http://www.mymazdarotary.com/mazda_rotary_general/r26b/html/r26b_paper_html.htm and heres another http://mazda.a-spec.ca/ I don't see how those were very hard to find :) EDIT: Also something interesting to me was that they used 3 spark plugs per rotor, the extra plug was called a late-trailing I believe, it talks about that on the sites I listed if you want to know more about it DevoutWankelist 02-27-2004, 01:45 AM Yeah, they were both non turbo. They used the telescopic intake manifold that was pretty *ucking neat too. Soyo 02-27-2004, 04:28 PM well to finally answer the question to the thread, heres a link with all the engines mazda used, made, and prototyped http://mazda.a-spec.ca/ Aruba27 02-29-2004, 03:09 PM yeah, i had actually found that site a while back, but the links weren't working for some reason. but thanks a lot guys, that's some pretty neat info to look at... too bad about some of those engines though, it would have been nice to have a wider selection of rotary engines dayna240sx 03-04-2004, 11:42 PM there were only two R26B engines made, there was no miniproduction. Well they probably had more than one for each race car, but they were purely race engines, and have never been available to consumers there was a R26B engine used in the Lemans 787B racer back in 91 and it was 654cc x 4 rotors=2616cc with 700hp and 448 torque then another R26B was used in the RX-792P in the USA's IMSA GTP series. it was lower in power, 650hp 420lbft although I don't know if either were turbo or not, never have found that out for sure. but from pictures I've seen, it seems like they are both non-turbo I believe the 20B was the engine used in race boats, I could be wrong though. heres a site about the engine http://www.mymazdarotary.com/mazda_rotary_general/r26b/html/r26b_paper_html.htm and heres another http://mazda.a-spec.ca/ I don't see how those were very hard to find :) EDIT: Also something interesting to me was that they used 3 spark plugs per rotor, the extra plug was called a late-trailing I believe, it talks about that on the sites I listed if you want to know more about it There are a lot more than just 2 r26b's out there. Mazda entered 3 787B's in Lemans. Also Downing has a ton of them. I bet if you e-mailed him, he has a spare he would sell you. dayna240sx 03-04-2004, 11:44 PM The new RX-7 will probably either have a 15a or 21a rotary. Soyo 03-05-2004, 01:43 AM well I didn't mean there was only 2, just that they had 2 different ones, 1 for lemans and 1 for IMSA GTP. are the new rx-7's supposed to come out 2006? because I heard they were spirit_r 03-05-2004, 09:46 PM i think originally it was end of 2004/beginning of 2005. most likely 2006 now though. Aruba27 03-05-2004, 10:24 PM Yeah, It'd make sence to put out a new rx-7 end of this year, especially with the success of the rx-8. but then again, i haven't really seen or heard anything about designs or anything of that sort. Soyo 03-05-2004, 11:47 PM I don't get how they are gonna manage to have an rx-8 and rx-7, wont they compete with each other? Aruba27 03-05-2004, 11:57 PM well, the rx-8 isn't a true sports car, since it seats 4. in order for them to really not compete, they'd have to step the rx-7 up a notch with power and handling. hopefully that's what they'll do. flex339 03-06-2004, 12:53 AM A lot of true sports cars have four seats. Ever hear of a Porsche or a nissan skyline, maybe a Supra. The 2 extra seats are for insurance cuts. Most of the time you can't even use them since they are a joke. Aruba27 03-06-2004, 01:11 AM well, i guess that i just left out a small detail. the back seats are designed to be very functional, that's one difference. even then, sports cars are usually derived from some type of race vehicle/technology, and i don't know of any race car that seats 4 (if you find one i'd like to know, i like knowing random info). I'm not saying that those cars aren't sports cars, i'm saying they're not true sports cars (even though they are still really bad ass cars). FDTT 03-06-2004, 01:43 AM Ok well Mazda has the Protage 3 and 5 now. I amagine they compeate with eachother. But they are priced different with different options. The RX7 will be the sports car, and the 8 will be what it was designed to be (a cool family car). I dont know if Mazda will retain the turbocharged aspect of the 7 but i sure hope they do. Oh, expect it to look like the RX8 and Miata had a kid, thats what the new 7 will look like. flex339 03-06-2004, 04:57 AM Well Aruba several race cars are the same cars that are on the road, but with better suspension, powertrain, and stripped interior. So in the end many race cars would've had 4 seats but since weight is the enemy they usually only have one. nemeii 03-06-2004, 05:23 AM yeah, hehe, heard the same about what it will look like, FDTT i also heard that the rx8's will be coming out w/ a turbocharged option pretty soon as well. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
