I put graphics on my bright metallic silver neon r/t. I had some trimming to do. 6 mos later i was bored of the graphics and found that i scratched the clearcoat with my xacto blade. it is deep enough that i can feel it with my fingernal but the scratches are very thin. I tried polishing compound and no luck. My question is should i use factory touch up paint or clear coat touch up. and what procedure do you reccomend.

Any scratch that can be felt is NOT removeable.

any scratch that has not broken through the clear coat IS removable. Take it to someone who has done detailing with wool buffing pads and not the new age kids who only buff with foam pads and ask them if it`s possible. Foam pads generate too much heat and will tear the paint before it cuts it. Wool pads will slowly take the finish down. If it`s too deep then it will go through the clear and you`ll have to repaint anyways.If it wasn`t possible to remove scratches that could be felt then i would be out of a job.

I would go for the factory touch up paint.But use a brush thats softer than the one that comes with it (Cotton Swab)

Not really...just learn some simple paint repair and you can still make it
