I'm tryin to modding my 240 but pretty broke for now and lookin for cheaper mods. I keep seein' these ecu mods on ebay for pretty cheap 25 cents to like 20 dollars. They're usually called either like performance mod or speed chip. Something like these

Do these really work?

those two examples arent performance chips, just sensor upgrades. and i wouldnt want to do that cuz its not a name brand and you dont know if its really reliable. id get an actual ECU upgrade, not the cheap sensors (at least i think they are sensors, they sure seem like it)

get a Z32 fuel filter
only about $10

get a cheap ebay cold air intake

that chip thing on ebay isnt a "chip". its a transistor. walk in to radio shack and you can get 10 of them for $.99. it plugs into your iat sensor on your car. i've been there, done that. it does add a couple horses if you don't have a cold air intake. if you do it doesn't do anything.

300zx fuel filter is a nice maintenance upgrade. keep your car nicely maintained and it will always run faster.

get an electric fan and pull out your mechanical fan. costs $60 and a couple hours installing it in.

remove the ypipe in your stock intake system. sounds just like an intake too.

get iridium spark plugs and new spark plug wires

shortshifter

straight flow muffler

that's about it. when all that is done go get a job.

That little chip on ebay is no good. they charge you like 5 to 20 bucks and you get a transistor to fool the computer into thinking it is getting cold air. Good luck finding the wires to place it. It is a rip-off and doesnt do anything performance wise.

damn im waisted i see 2 of the same posts. lol j/k yea that chip looks likes a waist to me....you got a 240 give it what it deserves...only the best which equals hella cash outta your pocket. so yea i agree with mynismo ....time to go to work!!!!

cars are a very expensive hobby. if you dont have money or dont want to spend (lots of) money on your car, turn back NOW while you still can, before you get sucked in and addicted.

ive dropped at least 10 grand into modding my old 240 and my maxima in the last year.

That is for sure. Ive had my 240 since August of this year and already put over a grand in it with my $5.25 an hour job. cars are my life and always will be.

well nissanfanatic, i just got my car in like, january, and im already like a grand in debt, and im makin 6 an hour...i know how ya feel when you have no money. and all ive done is like, clutch, rear stud, check-up, spark plugs, d/s mirror, etc. little stuff. but i bought the car for 750, and i included that into the grand, plus registration costs... so streetdreamin, keep dreamin, youll come up with cash, and then youll have a kick ass 240...just save, get a swap or something, maybe turbo the ka, im in the same boat as you, except i have to get mine runnin good, yours prolly runs good, you just wanna make it run better

well neither am i, i just owe my parents a grand. i pay it off in small payments because i dont make tat much a week. but i keep widdling away at it, and then adding more cuz i want to do somethin else to it
