Dont play with them,
Don't leave them at your girlfriends house
Don't leave them at your girlfriends house in reach of children and animals
Keep them away from children and animals, and dust

-Don't work on them while your Girlfriend's over (she may say things like "pay attention to me!") ;)
-Don't try to actually drive them.
-Don't put them in the oven.
-Don't leave it anywhere but its case or workbench, people will inevitably sit on them.

(im sure i'lll come up with more later!)

Don't leave them in your parents' house!

I still don't know where some of my models are or parts of them. My parents painted and made a guest room out of my old room and I had some models on display there, later I found one model (a AMT '57 Chevy) from one cabinet, but the hood was missing, they said that they hadn't misplaced anything and later I found from their computer room (my sister's old room) the Chevy's hood from a drawer... Some cars are still missing totally and I also had there a boat model of the Titanic, the boat was in the same cabinet where I found most of the Chevy, but the stand is still missing. The boat was on the stand and I just don't understand why to put the boat and the stand to different places and they don't even remember where they put some of the stuff. Probably they have thrown at least some of the stuff away. I had tens of model cars there, some are still there (the ones, which were stored in boxes), but the ones which were on display (usually the best ones) are mostly missing.

when you reorganise your display, be sure to remove all your kit.. it'S sad to see them running on the flour with the front wheel in the kitchen and the rear in the bathroom :D (that happened to me last week.. veeery sad day...)

don't let them sit on your bench for too long (I'm talking months)... Somehow dust manages to fuse itself to the paint, and it will not come off without sanding or scrubbing.
