Tranny Cooler2000GrandPrixGT 02-08-2004, 08:14 PM Has anyone installed a transmission cooler on their GT? Was the installation tough? Not much room down there. kilroypr 02-08-2004, 09:24 PM Just go to PFYC.com, LMPerformance.com among others. THey have tranny coolers for your car. Ripn12s 02-08-2004, 11:19 PM I've installed a "desert fox", sold by MSP. It took probably half an afternoon. The desert fox is the only kit that comes w/ everything needed for the install. Hoses, barbed fittings, zipties, etc. My first question is where do you live?? Midwest - south -eastcoast- westcoast. I had my GTP for 1.5 years when i lived in IL and had no reason to use a tranny cooler. I only installed one after I moved to Texas where my car was hitting 200+ deg. in traffic during the summer kilroypr 02-08-2004, 11:32 PM Ripn12s mine have hitted prior the 180tstat 208degf when in high gear. What is normal on high gear and traffic? Ripn12s 02-08-2004, 11:45 PM In the owners manual it will give you the temp range for the trans. I've always believed that anything over 210 was too hot, hence i go the desert fox. I've been told that over 220 and the fluid goes bad or starts breaking down. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
