Swap for 95 LX95CiviChristian 02-08-2004, 02:51 PM I have a stock motor in my 95 LX, I'm just wondering if this motor from hmotorsonline will just drop in my car. D15B SOHC VTEC Longblock Price: $ 435.00 Plus shipping and handling. Availability: In stock and ready to go. - Motor - Intake Manifold - Exhaust Manifold - Injectors - Fuel Rail - Throttle body - Alternator - Distributor - 5 Speed Hydro Tranny (add $150) Now wouldn't I be able to use my 5 speed hydro tranny? kicker1_solo 02-08-2004, 10:11 PM Don't waste your time and money with that motor, that's my opinion. eckoman_pdx 02-08-2004, 11:42 PM Don't waste your time and money with that motor, that's my opinion. I agree with Kicker. If you REALLY are determained to get a D-series vtec motor, then get a D16 motor with vtec (D16Z6 was the one in the 92-95 civic). But don't waste your money on that motor. A D15 is Honda's weakest motor. Also, you will need to wire your car for vtec, since the motor is a D15Bvtec and your car is not vtec. You might also want an apporiate vtec ecu as well, as your LX came with a D15B7 non-vtec motor. I suppose it's not a neccassity, some people do this without changing ecu's. However, your ecu has no vtec fuel maps. Are you replacing the motor just because? Or because your current one is dead? If it's the first, don't waste your money, save it. If it's the second and you want the vtec, and can only afford a d-series, then spend the little extra to get a D16vtec motor. That's my 2 cents. clickergod 02-26-2004, 08:39 PM its actually a good choice if your going on price just read 130 horsepower and if its the jdm d15b its also a ZC engine http://www.geocities.com/topfue1/d15b.html GScivic7 02-26-2004, 09:25 PM dude, I know you are eager to help out and all, and it's great that we have a member with a D15B motor, but you really need to stop bringing up these old threads 95CiviChristian 02-27-2004, 01:19 AM There's so much work that needs to be done to this car, I'm probably not gonna do anything to it. Prolly gonna give it to my sis, and get me a newer model. eckoman_pdx 02-27-2004, 05:22 AM Since this thread was already brought back from the dead, I just wanted to add something. Just because a motor is a "ZC" doesn't mean much. The ZC is quite possibly the most confusing Honda Engine code. There are 1.5 liter ZC's, 1.6 liter ZC's, SOHC, Vtec ZC's, SOHC non-vtec ZC's, DOHC non-vtec ZC's...not all have the same output, internals, etc. I just though I'd point this out because it was said if its the jdm d15b its also a ZC engine My point is, just because it can be called a "ZC" doesn't make a difference. There are so many different ZC's out there, the engine code is way to liberal in the motors it encompasses. Anyways, now I'll let the thread die again... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
