need exhaust help plz, 97 blazer 4.3lchvyblazin97 02-08-2004, 02:20 PM ive decided im gonna get a new cat as well as a flowmaster 40 series muffler, which cat should i go with, i would like a nice higher flowing cat than a stock, and hopefully it will help make muffler sound nicer. i believe i have 2 1/4 in piping now, if i get a new cat, the new cat i was looking at seems to be 3 inch, does this mean i can now get the 3 inch in and out flowmaster? how would the 2 1/4 piping before old cat hook to the new 3, some adapter? and then i would just get i suppose 3 inch piping from the new cat to the muffler and 3 inch out the back. Also ive been told to not use any turn downs or anything as this will quiet it and just to go straight out the back. does this mean i use straight piping from the new muffler straight out the back or does it mean i keep the stock route of the piping and instead of making just the end of it coming out of the side of car like now, just make it come straight out. sorry if that post got a little crazy with my wording of things, but plz try to help, i believe im completly confused, so could someone plz straighten me out and tell me what i need to make my s10 1997 4.3l vortec sound real nice. thanks tom3 02-09-2004, 06:59 PM Try this site, lots of guys are doing the same thing with their trucks. http://www.s10forum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=107 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
