Audi A6 vs MErcedes E-class

Hey everyone,

I want to buy a new car, and I just don't know which one I have to decide for, Audi or Mercedes? I live in Germany so the cars are, relatively, cheap.

The E-class would be my pick. But you have to get it with 18's unless you want it to look like a Daewoo or Hyundai...

The new A6 is right around the corner, wait for it...

sorry, I forgot to mention, I was gonna pay 20000€ for my car, so the Mercedes is not as new, I would've got the older model, so which one is better, now?

I'd go for the older E. My dad has one. It looks more elegant than the new one (imo), is better built inside, and reliability in our experience has been 100% in 5 years of ownership. Nothing has gone wrong. You can get them for not a lot now, you can easily find one with low mileage, they're an absolute steal.

Definitly the E-class. Especially the E55 AMG. They're suppose to be the world's fastest sedan rightnow.

Have you considered other alternatives? BMW 5-series, Saab 9-5, Volvo S80/V70? My father had €65 000 at his disposal and ended up with a Saab 9-5 Estate, after considering the A6, the new E-class and Bmw 5-series, but you get a nice 9-5 for 20 000€ in Germany, I guess..

But if you're not willing to consider other options, I'd go for the A6 over the E-class

If you want a sporty car, then a 5 series is a lot of fun.

Butas a luxury car I'll go for the Audi.


Previous model E Classes didn't even have Climate Controlled air-con unless they were a V8. Even my mates wifes Micra has Climate Control
