What is your favorite Corvette engine?, include all information you know about the engine also thank you. Personally I like the 396 Turbo-Jet from a 1965 corvette, it produces 425hp.

Lingenfelter Twin-Turbo LS1 427, but I don't think that counts.

No that engine counts, why wouldn't it?

Well because it's not really built by chevy & it costs as much as a C5 was new. Can you beleive there is actually a 2yr/24K mile warranty on something like that? Well for $50,000 there better be something to back it up!

I like this part:
0-60 MPH 3.2 seconds with street tires
1/4 mile 9.50 @ 145 MPH with street tires
Estimated top speed 230

And according to all the magazines that have tested this engine/car claim it still gets 20MPG when driven normally.(probably 6mpg under full boost)

RIP Mr. J. Lingenfelter - I was unaware of his passing.

20 miles to the gallon, holy crap how much horsepower does it have?, my 65' GTO has 360hp and it gets about 10-12 miles a gallon.(on good days)

look at that its on sale only $48,995.00(reg. price $49,995.00)!!
I wouldn't buy an entire car for that much or more, unless I really wanted the car.

LT-5 Engine. The ZR-1 engine's were in my opinion the best. Well the latter or the years.

I'd go with the LT5 as well - not my favourite Vette engine but I think it is (and will be remembered as) the most popular. Probably because it was a 32 valve high revvin twin cam engine (don't think it had ever been offered in a Vette before). I wouldn't necessarily say it was "the best" Vette engine either but it continues to enjoy the most allure and mysticism.

The 427 in the Lingenfelter is the same engine (not as tuned) that they use in the C5R Vette. What a wicked motor. Lingenfelter does offer just the motor, it pushes 500hp I believe, a very moddest number hehe. Other than that, I'm going with the L-88. Quite possible the most underrated Corvette engine ever.

My favorite vette engine is....mine ! 1970 454 cid with 390 h.p. and 500 ft lbs tq. at stock level. The highest advertised torque out of all the engines (of course, the L88 even though it was rated at less, im sure delivered more h.p/tq).

I think the new LS2/zo7 motor coming out in the new C6 ,is going to be a very very popular motor for many years to come.

My LEAST favorite vette engine is the 1975 california engine : 350 cid / 165 h.p. The family station wagon could keep up with it. Its a shame that its even mentioned in vette magazines .
