got my stock 95 2 door automatic to 118 n hit a limiter. 100-110takes like a minute

I think a little over 120(buried needle) I had the modern performance pcm, no limiter.

at the srt forums they have a vid of an srt doing 160 on the highway

Id be scared to go that fast in my SOHC Auto...is it even good for the engine?

118-120 were ever the limiter came in. i do that about once a week just because i can.

i've hit 110 in my 98 5 speed, it was suprisingly smooth and i still had about 500 rpm before i redlined so i could have gone a little faster.

I just "test the speed limiter" whenever I feel like it's needed. ;) Since I live out in the country, where there are a couple stretches of road with no outlets, I can do that from time to time.

Where is the governer supposed to kick in? I've hit 120 on a 3 degree decline and I have the stock pcm. I think something is seriously wrong with my computer tho'.

They are speed limited to 118 to 120 depend on tire size but also if you are going down hill you may be able to go a little faster since it is not taking any engine force to push you

tires can have something to do with it as well. i have 225/50/15's on my car so i know my speedo is not a 100% right. when i am doing 65 my speedo say 67 so i figure at 115 like my speedo said i was doing about 118-120.

where is the speed limmiter, would it be bad to get rid of it?

The speed limiter is in the PCM. The only solution I ever heard of to get rid of it, other than buying an aftermarket PCM, is to trick the speed sensor. The only way anyone ever did that was to put something (I don't remember what) inline with the speed sensor to make the PCM see only half your speed. Since the speedometer is controlled by the PCM, your speed reading will be half. So, if you see 30 mph on the gauge, you'll actually be going 60. A PITA, if you ask me.

I went at least 122 in my 2002, 5 km bridge works well, especially down the descent of the bridge since gravity helps break the limiter.

ok, i've burried the neadle on both neon's i've owned, and came awfuly close at 150 on my srt-4.....

but.....i just bought a tuner streat race dvd called midnight street racing, that has a segment at a real drag strip, and they watched a neon coverted to rear wheal drive run the strip, then panned to the time clock on the side and it said 10.122......i was impressed.
